The world of video games, Activision-Blizzard, Vivendi-controlled, published Wednesday, August 3, profits and sales well above expectations for the second quarter, driven by the success of the shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Net income jumped 53% to $ 335 million (234 million). Turnover rose against all odds, albeit modest (+2.3%), reaching $ 699 million (488 million), against 599 million dollars (418 million) expected by analysts.
The group also raised its annual forecast: it now expects $ 4.05 billion (2.83 billion euros) in revenue, against 3.95 billion dollars (2.76 billion euros) previously announced. However the forecast for the third quarter are below expectations: turnover is expected at $ 530 million (370 million) instead of $ 632 million (441 million) of which had analysts.
