Towards the end of talking rabbits Nabaztag

On Wednesday, most of the Nabaztag will fall silent: the servers that run these rabbits speakers connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi will stop. Mindscape, the company that markets and manages the services of these iconic gadgets, is in serious financial trouble: in receivership, the company can not pay all its bills. Illiad (owned by Xavier Niel, shareholder of the World), which hosts the servers of the Nabaztag, has decided to terminate its contract with Mindscape, and cut so that the service July 28.

Created in 2005 by the company Violet, talking rabbits, childlike design, had aroused great interest. Programmable and able to read e-mails or information flow, these gadgets have even been used to create an electronic opera for one hundred rabbits.

Economically, however, success is not to go to Violet. From 2008, the turnover of the company, which also markets other consumer robotic products, drops sharply. Placed in receivership in 2009, it was finally bought by the publisher Mindscape, for 350,000 euros. A turn in big trouble, Mindscape, which publishes mostly games and educational software, was placed into receivership June 23, 2011.
