Marriage is sealed. Hachette Livre and Google have signed a definitive agreement on the digitization by the American giant out of print works in French, whose rights are controlled by the leading French and second world. The information was made public Thursday, July 28 in a statement.
The agreement, which follows the protocol signed in November 2010, covers "thousands of works covered by copyright and French that are no longer commercially available (...), which is the case for the vast majority of published works to date, "says the text.
These works represent about 70% depleted of funds and Hachette Livre publishing houses that are part of the group or 40 000 to 50 000 works. These are mainly literary texts and reference books, including those in Oxford. Many academic books are concerned.
