A catamaran capsized in the Bay of San Francisco.Video

Tuesday afternoon a regatta was organized demonstration of future America's Cup boats in the bay of San Francisco (California). At the helm of one of the catamarans AC45 (13.45 long): New Zealander Russell Coutts, Team Leader Oracle and holder of the last America's Cup.

During the demonstration, the owner of the four most prestigious sailing races, failed to master his craft, which was literally raised by gusts of wind.

The skipper Russell Coutts has been thrown into the air, a teammate fell into the water. More importantly, Shannon Falcon crossed the rigid sail multihulls.

No injuries have been deplored. Only Shannon Falcon was taken to hospital to undergo some tests. The catamaran was adjusted with a support boat and should return to the wild after a few (expensive) repairs.

These multihulls will replace traditional monohulls in the race.

The 34th edition of the America's Cup will take place from September 7 to 22, 2013 in San Francisco.
